Getting back into swimming/waterpolo?

So I've been out of waterpolo season forever now and I going to take a swim class over the summer to get back into shape for water polo for fall... is there any diet routine i can get into and some form of exercise so I'm not that out of shape when I start swimming again? -thanks (:

    Eat a diet that is high in plants (fruits/vegies). As far as exercise is concerned, you could go out and run or cycle to START getting your respiratory muscles in shape. But, other than that, there are no other exercises that will prepare you for the endurance you'll need for swimming and polo. The conditioning for those two is actually different, too. So ... just go out and hang in there for a few weeks as it will take about 3 weeks for you to really notice that your getting into shape.
