Mythical soul eaters?
What are some different creatures that eat souls? And I don't mean nice things that guide your soul to an after-life or anything like that--I'm talking about evil creatures who steal your soul and then eat it.
Please don't say mother-in-laws. Unfortunately for some, those are not mythical.

Striga - is described as an Albanian witch, but with legends about them going back to ancient Rome They feed of spiritus vitae, or life essence, mainly from children. This leaves the children with a weakened immune system which leaves them vulnerable to illnesses like pneumonia which can kill them. They work their way through the siblings in a family.
Reapers take souls too, but not in the evil way.
These are from japanese mythology i hope its alright.
Doji- a winged spirit similar to the judeo christian angel, they take the souls of dying persons or someone that is neglected and no one would miss usually beggars.
Wanyudo- A flaming wheel with a mans head in the center that sucks the souls of anyone who sees it.

Usually thats the job of Demons. Guide people down a bad path so they can claim their soul. And this can be done by proxy. Kinda like a snowball effect.
