Is Nintendo Wii worth buying?

I seen this bundle at walmart that has a slick black Wii with super mario bros game and soundtrack to mario galaxy. If you know what im talking about, thats what im planning on purchasing. Ive never owned a Wii and rarely played one. My gaming has always been on the hi res consoles like ps3/xbox360. I love playing bf3, skyrim, and cod games. I plan on selling my ps3 and buying a Wii with that money. Is netflix good on Wii? Are the CoD games good on Wii? Is multiplayer and wifi available? I dont like that it doesnt have hdmi output, or bf3/skyrim on it. However, I do like the huge variety of games and family friendly games it has for it. I love mario and I hear the zelda games are pretty good. I guess I just need some positive feedback from people who've owned/own a Wii. I want to know im not making a moronic purchase. I want a console that will entertain the whole family, but at the same time have a console that will feed my need for more mature/serious/fast paced action games. What do you think?

Yes the WII is cool, butt u need two things, 1,is a classic controller ( it kinda mimics the Xbox 360 controller).

2, u need to buy composite cables and throw the cheap RCA ones away that come with the system.

I bought the Wii for excersize about 2 months ago and I was always under the impression that the wii sucked. It really don't I bought MW3 and a classic controller and I was blown away at how it's just like playing it on a xbox360. I bought a flat screen tv and then I realized the graphics did suck but I did research and found out the the cables that come with it are the problem. I went to Walmart and spend $25 bucks on the HD composite cables and bam!! I was back in business with great graphics. It's not 720 or 1080 but I really can't see that much of a difference.

So yes buy it and have a blast playing MW3 or what ever game u like, the Mario games are real fun on here as well.

When Wii first come out it, it was entirely only for family and kids now it's for everybody.

Oh yeah , yes u can play Call of duty online and the wifi works great. Better the. The wifi on a ps3 or Xbox so there is one thing Wii is better then those system at.

I'm wondering if you'd be better off keeping your PS3 and trying to save towards a Wii instead. The Wii is ideal for the family oriented games you want, I don't think the other consoles come close for multiplayer family entertainment but it also sounds like you're a bit of a "hardcore" gamer, which the Wii caters for but not to the same extent as the PS3 or 360.

So although I'm convinced your family would appreciate the Wii I have a feeling you'll be left feeling a bit dejected and craving some Uncharted 3 :(

The Nintendo Wii is a GREAT system it has games that'll ROCK your world and it has games that are very fun too. Try something like

Zelda Skyward Sword (It needs Wii Motion Plus): A great game, if your a fan of Zelda than you're gonna be drooling when you see this game in you're wii, ready for gameplay

Super Smash Bros Brawl (SSBB for short): This is my favorite wii game. You can duke it out with you're favorite Nintendo characters such as Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu and Samus, And alot more, plus you can play Online against other people and more than 100 Challenges to be done this is the best wii game out there (In my opinion)

Resident Evil The umbrella Chronicles: This is a rail shooter which is VERY fun, especially when you're playing with you're friend/sibling (Includes Co-op which is like the BEST EVER) and you can unlock more scarier levels and get Ranks depending how well you did in a level...

There's alot more. Please buy this console. You're gonna make me happy and you're self happy and most of ALL you're gonna make Nintendo happy :)

    -Hope i helped!!!

Please. Do yourself a favor and buy it. The other people who replied on this only care about graphics. This is the best home console right now, and it has both hardcore and family friendly games. Nintendo is an amazing developer and they've made some amazing games for the Wii. Third parties have also made some good games for the system. If you get the right games, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

List of awesome Wii games and their ratings on IGN -

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - 10/10 (Action-adventure RPG)

    Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 10/10 (3D platformer)

    Super Mario Galaxy - 9.7/10 (3D platformer)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 9.5/10 (First-person adventure with some shooter elements)

    MadWorld - 9/10 (Brawler) {One of the most violent games of all time}

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - 9.5/10 (Action-adventure RPG)

Goldeneye 007 - 9/10 (First-person shooter, story mode and online multiplayer)

    Conduit 2 - 7.5/10 (Sci-fi first-person shooter, story mode and online multiplayer)

Xenoblade Chronicles - 9/10 (Japanese RPG)

Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort - 7.5 and 7.7/10 respectively (Family-friendly sports games)

All CoD games (Black Ops is the best) {Awesome online multiplayer)

You can keep yourself occupied for hundreds of hours with these games, and it would be time well spent. Buy a Wii, and you won't regret it.

I see that no one has really said much about Netflix on the Wii. If you have watched Netflix at its highest quality on the PS3 or 360, you will be disappointed by Netflix on the Wii. The inability to watch in HD on the Wii makes it the least desirable Netflix device.

YES! Sell your crappy PS3 to get a Wii because it is WORTH IT. Btw, Skyward Sword tops every game on PS3 and 360. Keep in mind though... CALL OF DUTY SUCKS ON WII!!!
