Have you ever found a body?

I know from watching cop shows and movies, that most dead bodies are found by fishermen and dog walkers.

I dog-walk and fish more than anybody else I know, sometimes simultaneously, yet I've never found even one dead body.

Update:

and besides which, my next career is going to be in law enforcement, cause all the women cops are so hot!

Update 2:

[Note to nonnie, not so much on Ray Roberts, but Lake Dallas is now part of Lake Lewisville where I do a lot of fishing]

WTF?? Isn't this supposed to be about helping friends with fishing questions?

    TU to CD & Tim.

I fish to be at peace, finding a body would kind of ruin that and don't think I'd really want to remember that.

I know what you're saying, and it does seem that the people engaging in activities like the ones you describe are the 'finders'. What I've noticed, though not from the TV stuff, is that kids often find bodies, too. They're the ones who are off trail, walking or running through all that weedy, brambly area where adults don't go.

City kids are also likely to be the ones going into abandoned buildings or onto vacant lots. I've always wondered if (for the kids) it's a lifetime memory. I can't imagine that it wouldn't be, but kids are like little ducks sometimes ... things just roll off their backs.

ps with 'Texas' in your name I wonder if you've ever fished Ray Roberts. I lived for most of my life in North Texas and fished all around that area, Lake Dallas, Little Elm, Grapevine and Ray Roberts. I only fished Caddo Mills once but it was good fishing! Lots of crappie. YAY!

I personally have not but my cousins friends was on the staten island news for catching one.

As for your career in law enforcment thats flat out weird and dumb. Your probably 11 so I wont yell at you but make room for real cops who want the job. Nj state police have hard training my brother has to get maced soon before he graduates.

This is a depressing question...reading it almost sounded like you were "wanting" to find a dead body.

I personally never came across a corpse ( Thank God) and I do not want to see one for that matter. I have come across many memorials in my time and that alone was enough. A word of advice, be careful what you wish for. ~good luck catchin'.

Me either. I know that the cop shows and movies MUST be portraying things realistically -- yet NEITHER of us has found a body! What gives?

    No.

But the day isn't over yet.

Thought I finally had one, but it was only a drunken camper.

When it gets hotter maybe one wil pop to the top.

Actually I have found several bodies while hiking in Colorado. I was on the local search and rescue team.

    Edit:

WTF, how does that get a thumbs down.
