If you rotate your faucet a little bit, the water runs out slowly. As you rotate the faucet more, the velocity of the water increases. The water coming to this faucet has been in many different size pipes. To determine the velocity in the other pipes, you need to know the velocity of the water flowing out of the faucet.
Now I know why I cannot determine the velocities in the 3 pipes! We need to know the velocity and the pressure for the same pipe.
