To get all on same network for easier file sharing there are a couple routes you can take.

#One way is to put all the machines on the WiFi router and only have 1 connection from the LAN port of DSL router to WiFi Internet port then have all machines connected to LAN ports or wireless access of the WiFi router.

    DSL

    |

    WiFi

    /|\

    all machines

    # The other is to leave the setup as is except connect the WiFi using a LAN port and not the Internet port then give the WiFi a Static IP that is not in the DHCP IP address range of the DSL but still in the same network as the PC's. Turn off DHCP duties on the Wireless and have your DSL set as the gateway for the Wireless connection.

This way the laptop will get its DHCP from the DSL router and its IP from the DSL. Putting all machines on one network including the Static IP of the WiFi.

No, the factor of a router is to share your information superhighway with many computers. A under pressure routers gennerally can hook up 4 computers in case you like an ethernet cable connection and that they might hook up 20 to 50 in case you employ a wrieless router. you additionally can hook up 4 computers with an ethernet cable by making use of a on the spot router. If any of your computers have a on the spot information superhighway card in them i might advise a on the spot router. bear in recommendations that no longer only computers can use a router. I even have my Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and my PDA additionally hooked as much as my on the spot router. All those can't be connected (with out procuring for greater beneficial kit) to a under pressure router. circulate on the spot.

why in gods name would you set your network up like this ??? set the DSL router to modem only . and route everything through the wireless router so you are not pulling two different SUB nets

Since all your computers are on the same network, you can easily do file sharing between the computers. The options might be different depending upon which operating system your using. Usually on xp there is "shared folder". check ur firewall settings.

Also why do you have wifi and nothing connected to it?

The wifi router is probably a different subnet, and blocking incoming file sharing.

You should set the wifi router as a "switch" only, do not use its WAN port, only its LAN ports
