the interceptor missiles in alaska and california are in case north korea ever has the capability (geography). the missile defense shield proposed in europe would theoretically stop an iranian attack however a 10 missile defense shield would do nothing to stop russia, they could just fire a barrage of missiles at it. this apparently has not been figured out by the russians.

In addition if the sanctions wont stop Iran's nuclear program(Peaceful or not it doesn't matter now US doesn't trust Iran's Govt anyway) a military strike by US and her allies is likely. Such an attack will not only take the nuclear reactors out (If there is a huge nuclear explosion too bad for the Iranians living near the reactor as it is collateral) but also will take out any missile capability and missile facilities of Iran.

there are no nuclear reactors in dispute between the IAEA the UN security council or anyone else. these four facilities are in the dispute with iran, the IAEA, and the un security council Arak - Heavy water plant Isfahan - Uranium conversion plant Natanz -Uranium enrichment plant Qom - Uranium enrichment plant. there have been 6 un security council resolutions ordering iran to shut down these facilities.

So is it really necessary? The missile shield to be constructed close to the Russian border in several Eastern European countries

The NATO (USA) has said these missiles wont be aimed at Russia to calm Russian fears?

they wont be russia could easily overwhelm this system

If a missile shield is stationed in Eastern Europe not aimed at Russia (Aimed at Iran and North Korea?) is US going to pack up these missiles and take them away if North Korea and Iran posers no threat? Also if it wants change its aiming these missiles from Iran to Russia I believe it shouldn't take more than a few seconds of time

this system is stationary. i suppose it could be dismantled later. there is no aiming it detects incoming missiles, if it actually works. once again russia could easily defeat this system

not necessarily, depends on the country since several have sea based systems also.

First, there is no such thing as a missile "shield." That infers it can stop everything. "Shield" is a term used by those who want to kill the program by pointing out the system in incapable of a 100% kill rate, i.e. perfection.

Missile Defense for North America is not aimed at Russia. It would be a waste of time if was because the Russians would overwhelm the system rather easily. Besides, interceptors in Alaska and California can't protect from missiles coming over the pole toward the central or eastern US anyway. A country like N Korea is not expected to have more than a dozen or so missiles and that is the threat BMD is targeting.

BMD in Europe is to stop Iranian missiles. The Russian "fears" and threats are for political reasons, not fromthe actual capabilites of the systems. Take a look at the requirements to intercept a ballistic missile, then look at where the sites are located. It's not a computer game, use real physics and see where any attempted intercept (if possible at all) would occur.
