Car poll:: Automatic transmission or Manual transmission...?

I personally prefer the manual power transmission in my car.

The manual gear shift is a lot better when compared with the automatic one, because it does not make you lazy and keeps you alert while driving. As it is, driving on Indian roads is very serious business.

[Handicapped and elderly people are an exception, for them it MUST be automatic gear shift.]

personal opinion and based on my experience driving automatic and manual cars. it depends upon whether you drive fast or you are a lazy driver. I prefer manual because I drive fast you will see the difference when you change gear it will pick up at once very useful when you overtake, not like automatic but there is also good in automatic. when you are from a very traffic country like the Philippines for example, automatic are very good because you will not get tired of stepping on the clutch changing gears, you'll simply hold the steering wheel press the accel and relax driving. so it depends upon who will use and what kind of driver. better have both, I use automatic going to town but I use automatic on highways. or you buy the tetronic bmw you can drive it manually and you can drive it also automatic, this car is a wonderful car Based on my experience this is the best car manual or automatic.

I prefer a manual transmission. You have much more control over the vehicle than you do with an automatic. Also, repair costs are much cheaper if you were ever to have a problem with it. Also, much more fuel efficient.

Manual. Have driven a few automatics and they're OK, but I prefer the control and economy of a manual and have never bought an automatic.

Automatic. I've tried to drive manual a few times and I'm surprised I didn't kill myself :P
