I need help making this game?

I got bored one day and decided to make a game. I was doing great until I hit a wall that was going to inevitably come somewhere along the road. I still want to make it because I'm one of those people that normally can’t finish anything, and this looks like one of the few things I actually might be able to get done.

I made two different 3D files in the .skp format (Google Sketchup file). One is of a person (the player) and the other file is of the terrain the player walks on. The thing I need help with is, I need a way to link the two 3D files and have the player do basic movements. I don't need walking animation yet this is just a draft really. So how do I get the player on the terrain (no not copy and paste)? I need to make it to where it has simple controls, like A for left, D for right for, W for forward, space for jump and right click drag for camera movement.

Please tell me how I can do this. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

There is this program called Unity, i have never tried it myself but some friends told me about it. It is a good way to start making games, if it is just small games you have to make. check it out and see what you can do with it.

I agree with the other guy, use Unity, very easy to use, plenty of help online via the support forum and by just using Google when your in need of help. Unity allows you to add a camera to a Player and it add's all the controls for you. Then you just add the terrain and give it a mesh so the Player doesn't fall through it and your done! :-)

The shelf lifetime of handhelds is distinctive than consoles. Many extra folks purchase handhelds as a informal gadget, so they are no longer going to leap on the hazard whilst a brand new hand held is published, and Nintendo realizes this. So, as an alternative of forcing folks to shop for a DS, they saved aiding the GBA crowd for a whilst. And if I take into account, there have been nonetheless steady Gameboy Color video games for a whilst after the GBA was once published. Many console house owners are of the "hardcore" form who will probably be inclined to shop for a brand new console as quickly as their historic one is not supported anymore, and Nintendo takes complete competencies of that....it could be beautiful foolish if they did not. They've performed that with important consoles ever given that the SNES.
