Is it racist to judge a black man by the content of his character?
I understand that it may look and actually be racist. So how can I not look racist? I'm pretty sore about this issue and need to vent. Sorry.

You should judge everyone by character. You sound racist to me. Why else would you ask?

No. Though I'm not sure why you bothered to include black man. It isn't racist to judge any man or woman by the content of their character. It is racist to judge other people based on the content of character of that one person, however.

Maybe I'm recalling this incorrectly, but I believe Martin Luther King said that he wanted people judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
So, no it's far from racist to judge someone on their character.

Quite the opposite. Once the character has been assessed, there is no need to consider "race" (you mean ethnicity).

No, Unless you judge him more harshly than you would someone of another color. Character has nothing to do with race.
