What is the difference between red shift and blue shift?

    Red shift---The source of waves are moving away from us.

    Such as the stars are moving away from the earth, in this expanding universe, the shift is towards

    the red end.

    Blue shift-- that is moving towards us, a Big Brunch, it will not happen.

    Red Shift means the object is moving away from you at a significant percentage of the speed of light.

    Blue Shift means the object is moving toward you at a significant percentage of the speed of light.
