How does Tramadol show on a standard drug test?

I actually have prescriptions for stronger meds like Oxycodone but took some Tramadol from a family member with hope of fewer side effects. Realizing bad idea now that I have random drug screen! How long will it stay in my system and how does it show up on the average test (non medical office employee urine test)? If it just says positive for opioids am I fine since I have the prescription for the heavier drugs or will it show up specifically as Tramadol?

Tramadol is currently classed as an uncontrolled opioid analgesic (painkiller) available on prescription & is essentially the same as codeine. It will show up in a urine drug screening if it is tested for, but most standard five-panel drug screening tests currently do not test for it.

Like most substances, Tramadol is usually out of your system after about three to five days from use.

Other factors that might affect urine detection time are individual drug tolerance, urine pH levels and how much water is in the body. Drinking a lot of water or having very acidic urine, for example, tend to shorten detection time to some extent.

Quick answer-72 hours, drink plenty of water to ensure that time frame. And it will show up as an opioid. It's a synthetic opiate or opioid and as such that is how it will appear.
