Are carnivorous plants considered Veg*n to eat?

Honestly curious.

Assume they are edible (not sure if they are)

Update:

I've seen it used - extensively - as a shorthand for Vegan/Vegetarian, and I'm lazy.

They're not edible, but even so I wouldn't try them - all those insect bodies floating around in there.

    They're not edible.

Assuming they are, I wouldn't. It actively killed an animal, so it's like I'm eating all the animals that it ate.

I hope you realize that vegan is not a curse word. There is no need to star out the "A"
