The battery light indicates that the system is not charging. You can have it checked at your local parts store at no cost.

When a battery light comes on it an alternator issue (The system is not charging) The alternator belt has not broken has it?? If not get it checked out by an auto electrician.

The battery light usually doesn't mean battery trouble. It almost always means alternator trouble. Have the alternator checked at your local parts store or battery shop. Good luck
