Problems with Adobe Flash player?

When I try to download Adobe Flash player it tells me that it is already installed. I have no Adobe Flash player on my machine. Does anyone know why it keeps saying it's there when it isn't?

    Using Google Chrome as your browser? Chrome comes with Flash. Try another browser to install it if you must.

    I had same problem so I downloaded Google Chrome (with Adobe Flash), set it as default browser but I still use IE9 for browsing and now the Adobe Flash Video and youtube now work fine.
