People good with computers, please assist me! (CD Drive)?
I used to use my computer to put music CDs on my iTunes all the time. But all of a sudden, it's stopped recognizing discs. I just inserted a BRAND NEW Hunger Games soundtrack in there, and it looked like it was going to work...my mouse pointer had a disc next to it, and I could hear the computer trying to get it to work. But then it stopped, and the disc didn't pop up in iTunes.
So I went to My Computer and looked at the DVD/CD-RW Drive (D:) and nothing was listed there. I don't think my computer's disc drive is recognizing discs anymore -.-
I've tried Googling what to do, but it's not really helping, so I'm hoping someone on here will help. I'd really like to be able to put music on my phone and iPod from iTunes....
Advice or answers? Thanks everyone!
When I said brand new, I meant I JUST bought it so it's not scratched or anything, I checked. I normally use normal music CDs, sometimes CDs people make for me. They used to work fine

Not really sure but considering that you bought a "BRAND NEW" cd might infer that you have previously used copied disks of music and that the CD-RW may not read CD-r discs.
You need to check the cdrw preferences of what type of CD's can be read like CD+r or CD-r (however, I doubt that would actually be the problem, just a thought)
If you have used the drive extensively, then it could be past its use by date. They do tend to go "wrong" after a few years or with constant use.
You can get a lens cleaner if other discs used were not quite clean (dusty, fingerprinted etc).
