Going to breed lizards: What species?
Nothing too expensive, this will be my first time breeding. A species that needs a medium size enclosure vs a large one would be best. Thanks for viewing my question :) I would also like to be able to sell the offspring for at least $40. Thanks!!!

LOL Who said this was a game??? I currently own reptiles and take very good care of them, but now I am looking for a species to breed. I am doing this to keep up with the costs of crickets if possible, but mostly for the experience. I can't believe you could be so rude as to say something like thta, when you have no idea what you are talking about. Go hate on someone else.

What about crested geckos? I'm thinking they may be a good choice bc they're very inexpensive and easy to care for.
Baby beardies require a ton of crickets!! They're expensive and they all require basking lights and UVB lights.
Cresties don't require UVB and you may not even need heat lights as they can be kept at room temp as long as your house stays in the 70's. If not, just set up some heat tape of heat mats and regulate them with a thermostat. They eat created gecko diet, instead of insects! How easy Is that right? And they're fairly popular.
Good luck!!

Well, for a start you could do. They are incredibly easy to breed. But, only have around 20-21 eggs a year, but depending on the morph, the could sell for around $100-$200!. Beardies are a bit harder but are still very in-difficult to breed. If you get a leatherback male and any female to breed, there will probably be some leatherbacks (which sell for $125-$250!). If you, however, get two opposite gendered leatherbacks, you will get all leatherbacks (did I mention beardies have 10-40 eggs a year?). The average beardie lays 20-25 a year unless they have more. And the average leather back is $185-$200 but usually $200 so it might be: 20x200=$4000 21x200=$4200 22x200=$4400 23x200=4600 24x200=4800 or 25x200= $5000 a year PER PAIR OF BREEDING BEARDIES.

Breeding is not a game, it's people like you who make animals end up in shelters. It is expensive, and no one will buy from someone doing it for fun.
So don't.
