Switching from Norco to Morphine?

My mom has been taking pain killers for a pretty long time because of her several health problems. Her doctor suggested taking her off of her regular pain pills and switching over to morphine. My mom seems skeptical but doesn't really know what questions to ask so i was wondering if anyone knew if this was regular practice? Possible websites i could look up for more information? Or some good questions to ask a doctor?

Thank you so much.

I would also like to suggest researching suboxone. You can start with suboxone.com and go from there. It will clearly state the benefits of suboxone and it does help with pain (got a recovering addict I know thru open heart surgery) but it's mainly for addiction and healing the addicted brain receptors. Most likely your mom's doctor cannot prescribe it (it's a special certification) but via Internet you can find a doc in ur area. It's a means to an end where morphine is another narcotic so it will help with none of her addiction problems (that I am aware of) I hope she feels better! Good luck to you!
