Does COBRA Cover Mental Health and Vision if They Were Covered By My Previous Plan?
I currently have Aetna but am going off my parent's insurance in July. COBRA mailed me some things outlining the monthly cost to receive the same coverage I currently have. However, what was outlined was Dental, Medical and Prescriptions. Those are all great but I don't know if Mental Health and Vision are covered under the Medical Coverage. Therapy is one of my biggest expenditures because I have PTSD and some other stuff. And glasses are pretty expensive too. If the COBRA coverage doesn't cover those then it's almost not worth paying for it. Has anybody had this happen to them also? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Ignore the above answer as they clearly should not be answering questions in this category. COBRA is the law that REQUIRES someone's company (in this case one of your parent's plans) to continue to offer coverage once a person leaves.
It is NOT a new or different plan. It is the SAME EXACT plan. So, whatever was covered before will be covered after as, again, it is just a continuation of the same plan. And, of course it's not going to list "mental health" just like it doesn't list "cold," "flu," "heart attack," etc.... It's all covered under the health.

If you had mental health coverage with your insurance then you will have the same coverage with the COBRA. Vision is separate though and may not be covered unless they specifically offer COBRA for it.

"the flow" should be flushed.
To add to the Pickles answer, Vision may or may not be included. If vision is part of the Medical or Dental policies then it will continue.
Depending upon your state of residence you may not be able to get individual insurance with mental health problems. Most insurance companies have major issues with mental health and most likely won't accept you.

It must cover exactly the same things as your previous plan. If you get COBRA, then you still have the same plan. The only thing that is different is how (and how much) you pay for the plan. Everything else must be exactly the same.

Not vision, not dental, etc.
I think the mental health is separate from health insurance, so it will not be covered by cobra.
Note: Anything out there is going to be cheaper than Cobra.
Google your state name followed by health insurance and look for companies such as Blue cross, cigna, aetna.
