How do you keep bar soap from slipping out of your hands in the shower?

Sorry if this question sounds dumb. I've showered with liquid soap my whole life and I use a bath sponge with it. Whenever I go on vacation, I use the bar soaps they have in hotels and I can never get the hang of it. It's hard for me to keep the soap from falling and having to pick it back up like every 5 seconds. Is there a trick to learn to keep this from happening or does this happen to you too?

I just rub the bar on a face towel and shower like so. Otherwise, just tighten your grip; but not hard enough to squeede it out your hand.

I solved the problem long ago by taking my bar soap with me in a plastic bag on vacation. I don't use liquid soap to shower with, and I don't want to use those teeny soaps that hotels put in the bathrooms. I suggest you take your liquid soap WITH you on vacation.
