I wouldn't put it in a sandwich on its own, but you can try it with some ham and tomato etc. Raw...it's a bit tough and stringy...depends on what part of the spinach you have. The leaves are great in salads. You can mix spinach into a lot of foods as they're cooking. It's very nutritious, so don't waste it. I steam it along with my baby's other veggies, before mashing it all up for her. I also chop it up, cook it and put it in gravy so my kids don't get upset at the sight of it. If you like the taste of it, just cook it and put it on your plate. Mash it up with some potato. It's really not that strong to taste. If you're making soups...spicy lentil soup is great for hiding vegetables in, but you probably already know that.

You've never had spinach before?! Wow!
First things first, you can most definitely have it raw. In fact, it retains more nutrition when not cooked, and it is absolutely bursting with iron.
There are many delicious recipes with spinach, from all cultures, but a delicious yet simple and quick and relatively healthy one is borani, a cool spinach yoghurt salad of Persian origin. Its an appetiser, but I'd more than happily have it as a light lunch with crackers and some olives.
Ingredients:
1 large bag fresh spinach
1 carton Greek yoghurt
Garlic, thinly sliced (as many cloves as you like - the more the better!)
1/3 teaspoon turmeric
Drizzle of olive oil
Pinch of salt
1. Rinse the spinach, then place in a pot on a low heat with the lid on, until the spinach wilts completely.
2. Add the olive oil to another pan and fry the garlic, stirring in the turmeric and the salt, until it is soft and golden.
3. Add the wilted spinach and the garlic and stir through the yoghurt.
Its so simple to make and so delicious, with the cool creamy yoghurt contrasting with the sharp hot garlic and succulent earthy spinach, leaving gold and emerald ripples through the yoghurt.
Enjoy!

Spinach is mostly associated with vegetable dishes, but young tender leaves can be eaten in a good green salad, or tossed with bacon pieces and walnuts.
Here is a recipe that was shared by Hannah in Liverpool http://www.get-your-kids-cooking.com/spinach-and-f...
Spinach is also great added to a fish pie, or wrapped around a salmon fillet baked in pastry

So many things. I make rice salad with spinach. I can turn it into dip, mix it with cream cheese for bagels,, quiche, omelettes, fritata, pasta, lasagna, put it in flour or corn tortillas along with meat and onions.... use it in soups. Use it as appetizers, endless possibilities. Be creative. I recommend that you wash it if you want to eat it raw. Also, it tends to be watery when you cook it so it has to be drained.

If you make curry just mix loads of it in near the end, you can put it in an omelette, fry it in garlic and butter as a side dish for meat, put it in a salad, cook it in a frying pan then add ricotta/marscapone/philadelphia and stuff into chicken breasts. And yeah you can use it in a sandwich, dont put too much in as it has quite a bitter peppery taste like roquette.

Yeah you can eat it raw.
My favorite thing to do with spinach is mix it with basmati rice, adding it a minute or two just before the rice is done.

It tastes lovely in a salad or you could make a creamy mushroom and spinach sauce or its really nice stuffed in a chicken breast with some cream cheese!

You can make pesto from it, goes well with baked pork, I also use a spinach layer in lasagna, just lightly braise with olive oil and garlic, have fun
