I keep hearing this commercial about a treatment for "not enough lashes"...?
Is someone actually trying to convince the world this is an actual medical condition? What they won't do to sell cosmetics! What is this world coming to?

I don't think they're trying to say it's a medical condition. They're just offering the treatment as a way for people to fix something that they feel insecure about,
