Why is Yahoo News so biased against Israel?

In photo blurbs about the Palestinian Nakba demonstrations, they said this...

Nakba, or catastrophe, marks Israel's founding in 1948 war, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled or were forced to leave their homes.

Had they stopped at... Nakba, or catastrophe, marks Israel's founding in 1948. It would have been simple, factually accurate reporting. They could have followed it up with an informational addendum that Arab nations launched a war against Israel in which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled or were forced to leave their homes.

Ramming the two ideas together, they seem to be naming the event as "The Israel's Founding in 1948 War" a very cumbersome name for a war. Or they are saying that the founding of Israel was a war in an of itself. This remarkably biased view is hateful toward the State of Israel. I think Yahoo should be ashamed of this bias.

What an absolute moron (or perhaps just racist) you are. Instead of lying to demonize Israel, maybe you should look up the facts and try to actually understand what is happening.

    Misty---as always---right on!

Acually, I'm astonished that Yahoo News would give such an accurate summary, considering (as Misty correctly pointed out) the lopsided influence of Zionism in U.S. news reporting. And if you think otherwise, you're either brainwashed or willfully ignorant. Maybe both, and an evangelical to boot.

Israel was "founded" because European Zionists waged a campaign of terror against both the British military and Palestinian civilians. Maybe you'll splutter that Israel was mentioned in the Bible. So freakin' what? Should we reinstate the Roman Empire, too?

Israel is a quasi-nation that exists only because of massive infusions of U.S. taxpayer dollars. It could never stand on its own in a million years. And it's probably the most despised country in the world as well. Perhaps in a first-place tie with the U.S. for continuing to support it in spite of its abysmal human rights records and continued occupation of another peoples' land.

Oh I don't know they could've gone for the jugular and stated as fact that Israel was founded on terrorism and continues to flourish on state sponsored terrorism.Seemed pretty balanced in that case.

Snotty - the vast majority of media moguls in the U.S are Jewish, that's a fact.

  • I would say Arab oil money holds sway with the media, so Muslims are in the driving seat, and Muslims despise Jewish and their state of Israel. EDIT@ MISTYBLUE: I am nowhere near the US i a in Scotland UK in Western Europe...

If Israel cleaned up its act, it might attract a more sympathetic hearing.
