Need advice if you can help?
My neighbor has two pure bred Newfoundland dogs, one is a proven stud with 18 puppies to his credit, the other dog is an unproven stud.the problem she finds herself in is last year she stud-ed out her proven stud and there was a tie but the dam did not go into pup.so she told the guy to bring the dam back on her next season and there would be no charge ,as the dam did not go into pup on her last season.so her next season the guy brought the dam back and again the stud dog tied with her, plus he wanted to use the unproven stud.which she allowed but still no puppies.the problem is now he wants his money back which was 100 euros. if anyone can give advice as to what she can do would be great.this guy was nice enough at the beginning, not so much now.
EDIT; Of course these two dog's are champion dog's.There is no way would my neighbor stud these dog's otherwise. Also the PROVEN STUD has 18 puppies to his credit,So he is most definitely not firing blanks. Also the guy was told about the unproven stud that he never sired a litter. He said that it did not matter and still wanted to use him.even-though he only paid for the proven stud dog.

Two studs and still no puppies? Does she have evidence that her dogs can produce? Sound to me like the guy's ***** is infertile, what evidence does he have to the contrary?
If the boys are shooting blanks she should refund, but there needs to be some evidence of that fact. If not, she should tell the guy to get lost.

If the female has tied with 2 different males and still has no pups then there is something wrong with HER that needs to be checked. For all you know she could have spread something to the males, but of course all dogs were tested beforehand right? Your neighbor should be kind enough to pay him back since the breeding didn't actually go through. Hopefully your neighbor is breeding well bred, champion dogs not just pets. The world really doesn't need anymore poorly bred dogs in the world and if she is producing them then I am happy the breedings aren't going through.

The man allowed her to try numerous times. He really tried to make good on his end of this. It's not his fault if she never got pregnant. I don't see how she could win this legally. She could always talk with a lawyer but, they cost money. Taking someone to court is expensive. I don't know how much the fee was but, was it large enough to take the man to court over? Will she spend too much trying to win the case that if she gets a refund it will be eaten up by legal fees. What if she takes it to court and loses? She will not only be out for the fee the man charged but she will be in the negative for legal fees if she loses. I'd say it isn't worth it. It all depends on how much the man charged her in the first place.

What does her contract with him say?? $100 Euros? They can't be decent quality dogs. Newfie studsgo for 10x that. Backstreet breeding at it's best. All dogs need to be evaluated by a reproductive vet. hypothyroidism is common in newfies and in females it can make them unable to conceive.
