Best Story in Video Games?
Personally i don't really like how devs are focusing so much on tech and narrative. I miss the days when they focus mostly on gameplay mechnics like the mario games but anyway. The games with stories that blew me away from beginning to end are as follows:
Half life games
knights of the old republic
chrono trigger
any good old PC adventure game
I haven't played fallout 3 mass effect series or bioshock....... those look like the front runners for story these days. Are there any more that just grab you from the beginning til the end? Halo was kinda of cool but meh, gears of war was as corny as the movie 300, and Uncharted 3 was okay but treasure hunting storyline don't interest me

thoughts series often, for each has an staggering tale, yet they're frustrating to describe. f/e vesperia's helpful factors a international the place all factors of life place self belief in machines stated as Blastia, and the interest is approximately each and all of the topics those machines use. Or abyss (which has a greater suitable tale. all people's destiny is expected by using the score, created by using Yulia, telling each and every thing which will take place from the start to the top of the universe. Now 2 thousand years, the seventh area of the score, the seventh fonon, has been discovered, and seventh fonists, people who use the score to apply fonic hymns in conflict, are beginning to upward push up. Now seventeen 12 months previous Luke Fon Fabre, the nephew of the rustic Kimlasca-Lanvaldear's king, lost his memory after being abducted, and is now no longer set loose of the fort, so while he ultimately gets the liberty he merits, is despatched plunging right into a conflict to guard the international, that no longer even the score ought to assume. besides, they're the two super video games, with superb characters, gripping plot-twists that should be too frustrating to describe devoid of the different individual enjoying, and is even a snigger rebellion too.

On your list I'll go with Knights of the Old Republic (2003) then Half life
But in my 20 years of gaming, I've never seen a more deep and brain turning story than Metal Gear Solid.
Games as of late are so watered down in story it's hard to find one that isn't forced in.

Final fantasy X
Dante's inferno
