Here is what my team would look like:
Blastoise
Nidoking
Arcanine
Magneton
Victreebel
Fearow (higher attack for the move Fly than Pidgeot)

Moltres ( take care of his Venasaur)
Raichu ( very usefull against elite 4 and Gary)
Pidegeot( Come on who doesnt like pidegeot)/Marowak ( good alternative for pidegeot since moltres can fly)
Beedrill ( help against venasaur+last very long)
Dragonite( hard to get, but will basically slide you past the champion)/ Aerodactyl
