How to paint atv plastics?
I'm getting a used fourwheeler and the plastics are faded, and have pretty bad surface scratches. So I plan on painting them, to make them look new again.
I need to know how should I paint them (using krylon fusion paint)
I wad thinking that I should clean all the plastic with a good degreaser, them make sure its dry.. then use a high grit sand paper to it, (lightly), then use krylon indoor/outdoor plastic primer (although the krylon fusion has primer already in it)
Then once done with the primer (Maybe 3 coats) imma spray it with the krylon fusion paint (2-3 coats)
And for the racks and black plastics I want to paint then with rustoleum bed liner in the spray can..
I think all I would have to do is lightly sand then then spray?

I just did this to one of my restorations. Personally I wouldn't recommend that krylon crap - it won't do well with the kind of abuse that an atv takes. I actually took some coarse 80 grit on my DA sander - sanded it all down, bought a gallon of rustoleum bed liner and sprayed it with an hvlp spray gun(it's thin enough to spray with a regular gun). I first did about 6 coats on a small spot and let it dry. Then i took a flathead to it and it wouldn't come off. I did the same to a portion that wasn't heavily sanded with the 80 grit and the screwdriver took it right off without any effort. If you like the textured black look I'd definitely recommend it! Also, being as it's truck bedliner I'd assume it's pretty strong. Only downfall is that the gallon was almost $50. It's easy to paint something and make it look great for a day, the challenge is to make it look good for years.
