You clearly haven't read up on the facts. There's no talk of penalizing "success," merely talk of limiting some of the tax advantages that the rich have been given and have abused, at the expense of the majority of Americans. Why should "success" mean that you are less responsible for paying the price of living in this wonderful country?

And have you REALLY done the math? I find it hard to believe that someone who would ask such a foolish question could possibly be affected by any of this talk, anyway. Do YOU make 7 figures annually? Does the majority of your income come from investment dividends and capital gains? Judging from the fact you mention "hard work" I'm guessing that is not the case. I just find it amusing how many technically middle class, and even "poor" people are all up in arms against these suggested policy changes that could do nothing but benefit them.

My salary is up about 30% over Bush's reign of economic terror. My taxes are LOWER. My 401k has increased by about 80%.

I'm pretty happy. I'd much rather have Obama chastising me than a Republican who destroys the economy, pays off rich donors, and bankrupts the country again. Not to mention starts ANOTHER middle eastern war.
