why have I recently started rocking while sitting and zoning out?

So, I'm a 17 year old female, and I recently have developed an anxiety disorder (which was brought on by smoking pot ONCE; weird, I know)... So I have started taking the anti depressant "celexa" to help control my anxiety. Ever since I have been on celexa I have started uncontrollably and unconsciously rocking while sitting, and also zoning out at the same time. I do it very often now, it's pretty odd. My dad thinks it's OCD, but I disagree because of the fact that I've only recently developed this habit. Does this happen often while on an anti depressant? Or is this caused by something else, such as OCD or what not? Or is it just another symptom of my anxiety?

It's not OCD that's causing this. Celexa can cause tremors shakiness and restlessness, do you feel any of that and if so is it triggering the rocking? I doubt it myself! Often zoning out and often accompanied by rocking is found in depression and some psychotic disorders. I get this myself and I have schizoaffective disorder, a mix of depression from bipolar with schizophrenic hallucinations/delusions/paranoia. At an earlier time it was thought to be a psychotic depression. I hope the anti depressant works soon for you but keep an eye out for any sign of strange voices or thoughts. I find it comforting as well but I have spine damage that would not agree!

I'm 15 and I do this, But I have an Anxiety disorder, OCD and ADHD.. For me I find rocking very soothing and due to my ADHD I have a very short attention span and that's what causes me to zone out, I like it.. Feels relaxing my only problem is when I do it at school and end up not knowing what to do.

It's nothing like to worry about, if it's effecting you maybe go see a doctor?

When I'm nervous I rock a lot more so maybe you could be nervous?

    Hope this helped

If it bothers you then it will only be temporary. But it might take 3 months before your body realises it is bothersome to your mind and stops.
