You can't sell stolen goods and get away with it.
The iPhone has two Serial IDs (which can blocked when stolen), the SIM card has an ID as well (which can be blocked when stolen).
If your referring to the SIM, remove the SIM Card before sale. If it's however the cellphone blockage, then you wouldn't of enabled that, it would of been the person you stole it off.
When stolen a person will contact the police and cellphone provider to have these blocked. By blocking the iPhone serial, it is blacklisted from the network and cellphone providers, and even adding a new SIM will not work. You will no longer be able to connect to the network or make outgoing phone calls. It pretty much ends up as a brick. iPhones also have tracking GPS capability which keeps history of where it's been moving around and can be tracked back to the theif even if swapped hands a number of times. Also remote application can access this (if enabled) even when the device is turned off.

the two the sim and the telephone would be blocked. additionally, they could sell you the telephone, report it stolen, get the community to dam the telephone, and declare a alternative off their coverage. They get the money from you for the unique telephone, and a alternative from the coverage. you finally end up procuring the unique telephone, yet no longer having the flexibility to apply it, because of the fact the community have blocked it.
