How tall is your middle hitter?
I'm middle hitter and I'm 5'8 -_- I have a good vertical though, but it's still a major disadvantage and it's kind of starting to eat me up. How tall is your varsity middle hitter? (JV?)

On many teams, the middle blocker is no longer the tallest player on the team. Quickness is paramount at middle. Jumping ability can make up for lack of height.
Every coach wants 6 footers on the front line. That rarely happens. Many teams have 5'9" and 5'10" middles. If you have good vertical, you can easily play JV, and you should be in the mix for varsity when the time comes.
By the way, the weak side hitter, or opposite, should be tall enough to set the block on the opponent's best hitter.
When I choose a team, I'll take an athletic, quick 5'8" player over a 6' klutz.

6'2 & 6'3. Your can move to weak side or outside hitter if you want to stay on front line. But until your Coach tell you we need to make a change than you do you best at that position. Good Luck?
