Hello Krystam, you are talking about the heat coming from your laptop, that is due to a few things...

    1. Poor ventilation, check the side vent slots and see if they are block with dirt, or your are blocking them when using it.

    2. not so simple, but possible, the internal fans are getting old, CPU fans and or VIDEO fans. Order the parts for then if your laptop is 3 years old+

    3. This one is much more concerning...some laptops have the hard drive installed under the mouse pad, if that is the case, there is software to check your hard drive life, for example.. "SMART DATA" from hard drive there are software's you can google and read ALIVE TIME, how many days, etc...

As a rule of thumb, backup your data regularly to a drive you don't use often, like a closet drive and if your hard drive is 3-4 years old just change it CLONE it first then change it to get 0 miles again and prevent impending doom to your important files (i have learned this the hard way).

    Hope it helps! Good Luck

Use a laptop on a hard surface, never on a lap or blanket or upholstered surface. It needs airflow.

Make sure the fans are working and the air vents are clear.

Turn down the power / performance settings to maximum economy vs maximum power.

Don't do extended gaming, video RIPping or other sustained high performance work on it

Maybe you should give it a rest. Sometimes computers can overheat due to overuse. Yes maybe doing that will help. If nothing works, take it to a specialist.
