Hey, I woke up today to know that my email address has sent emails to some of my "recently sent email addresses".

I tried to investigate on my own, and couldnt make sense that how come it could be work of a virus.

    1) The 'Recently login activity' section on my yahoo acount is showing that only I have (IP address) ever logged in.

    2) The full header of the spam mail is showing that the email was sent from 'Tehran - Iran'.

    3) The hacker/ etc was able to know that which email addresses were in my 'Sent mail box section'.

    4) The 'Sent Spam mail' was also added to my 'Sent Mail box'.

:::: Now how come this could happen ?

If there is a virus on my machine, then how the sent IP address is from Iran, and how come the

login history/ time is not recorded in 'Yahoo recent login activity'? Doesnt make sense from a software point of view.

The Virus/ or security compromise seems more towards the Yahoo servers/ services it self.

There are scam-busting sites that have online databases of the names scammers use, their email addresses, the stock copy/paste scam emails, phone numbers and stolen pictures. You could start your search and ask at one of those sites.

Your account got compromised. First change your password. Account help.http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/acct/in%E2%80%A6 for just about anything to do with your account. Then run anti Virus and Anti Spyware. Should be fine then.
