If someone goes to hell, can he return to heaven after getting his punishment?

I'm just a confused Muslim

1) I have heard that if a person goes to hell/heaven, he can never come back and that life will never end

2) I have also heard that their are some people who will go to hell and after getting their punishment, they will return to heaven

What does Islam say about this?

    1) Muslims who go to hell for their sins will come back out and enter heaven InshAllah.

But Non Muslims who enter hell, they will never come out as Allah swt wills.

    2) Yes. This is what I said about Muslims. That is true.

When they come out of hell. They get soaked in a river called... River Al 7aya..

And this makes them into an entirely different creation of beauty... after being deteriorated in hell.

    Hope this helps.

The above is all from authentic narrations of our beloved prophet saw.

From my understanding there are different types of Islam, not all muslims follow the strict laws or even islamic. Some older casts tell of redemption after suffering. Then salvation from hell. Christains have similar differences and fight about them. One christain faith does not believe in hell but degrees of glory based on your choices and covenants with god. That faith says even good muslims get to go to heaven just for being good people. Faith is complex, I read the muslim holy book and my best Friend Fahrook is part of the old muslim faith much older than islam. He says "That being clean (mind, body,& soul) and keeping the teachings of the great teacher holy and close to your heart as well as your everyday life can deliver you from the hell you fear. Only Allah can judge your soul pure but follow the pillars and faith will show you the way.'

A person who enters Paradise will never come out, yes, that one is true. However, some Muslims may be sent to Hell to be purified of any sins (if their sins outweighed their bad deeds and Allaah did not forgive those sins out of His Mercy - which He will often do, etc) since only the pure can enter Paradise. Then, after they are cleansed of their sins, they will enter Jannah. But after the last person to enter Jannah enters, the people in Hell will be there forever (and the people in Paradise will be there for ever.

    Summary:

All Muslims will eventually abide in Paradise eternally (even if some of them may have been sent to Hell to purify them of their sins).

All of the non-Muslims (minus the ones who never heard of Islaam/didn't have the abilities & resources to research Islaam - they'll be tested on the Day of Judgement) will abide permanently in Hell.

If the person is Muslim, he will be sent to heaven after completing his punishment in Hell. It is for non Muslims who will remain in hell forever.

May Allah forgive us and guide us to the straight path. Ameen.

No. God said the wages of sin is death, not a little punishment. You either go home to our Father or you are sent to the fiery lake to perish. Sin causes separation from God and that is the true meaning of Hell.

If a non-Muslim goes to hell he will never come out

when someone who was upon Shirk dies and goes to hell he will never come out. Simply labelling self as a Muslim will not get you anywhere.

any other Muslim who goes to hell will eventually come out and enter heaven.

Every one would be in Heaven Eventualy exept those who asociated partner to Allah , Some one or same thing equel to Allah.

According to Islam, are all non-Muslims going to hell ?

The short answer is ‘No’. In Islam the decision of who goes to heaven and who goes to hell is left entirely to God as He alone knows people’s hearts and is aware of their deeds.

What Islam claims is that it is the perfect religion for mankind and a religion for all time and all people.

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion.

    (Ch5. V.3)

It therefore certainly claims to offer the best guidance – which if followed will lead to paradise - but simply being a Muslim is not enough to enter paradise. It is the righteous who are rewarded by God, who may well be Muslims, Christians, Jews etc.

The Qur’an states that people who do good deeds will be rewarded for them:

For those who do good deeds, there shall be the best reward and yet more blessings.

    (Ch.10: V.27)

So it leaves it open to God as to who will be judged worthy of entering paradise.

Islam also tells us the qualities of the people who will enter paradise:

Surely, those, who believe and do good deeds, and observe Prayer and pay the Zakat, shall have their reward from their Lord, and no fear shall come on them, nor shall they grieve.

    (Ch.2: V.278)

And if they had believed and acted righteously, better surely, would have been their reward from Allah, had they but known!

    (Ch.2: V.104)

In the above two examples, those who believe in God, do good deeds, act righteously, observe prayer and give to charity are promised to be rewarded by God – and this may include the ultimate reward of being admitted to Paradise in the Hereafter.

Surely the believers and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabians- whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the last day and does good deeds – shall have their reward with their Lord and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve

    (Ch.2: V.63)

If a person rejects Islam after knowing Islam and fully understanding its truth he will be asked about it by God. Otherwise he will be judged according to his own religion or his understanding of right and wrong.

All Muslims will end up being in Jannah. The ones who sinned will have to be cleansed in the fire of Jahanam first though. Be it take millions of years, all Muslims will eventually end up in Jannah as they believed that there is only God and that Muhammad (pbuh) is his final servant and messenger.
