Mandatory Overtime Question?

When an employee is approached at the end of their shift, and told to remain for more overtime...Is that legal? Going for the time clock, and stopped...is it legal?

State of New York laws I cannot find regarding this, is there anything Federal?

Yes, mandatory overtime is legal. And yes, they can fire you if you are not available when they need you.

You work the hours your employer says you do or you get fired. Period.
