Pain from tonsillectomy?

I just turned 19 and got a tonsillectomy along with my adenoids taken out. I was fine the first two days but now I can't clear my nose because of my allergies and its hard to breath. I got codeine but it still hurts a lot and I have a high tolerance for throat pain being that I've had constant sore throats for years. Also my mom is trying to get me to eat but I feel it makes it worse and the doctor said I didn't need to eat for the first couple of days if I didn't want to.

I didn't eat or drink after I got mine out and I got dehydrated. Make sure you try to drink. I know it is super painful. The worst pain is when the scabs coming off. Milkshakes are somewhat helpful if you drink them slowly.

Source(s): I had my tonsils out and I also had neck surgery... Recovery from getting my tonsils out was more painful than the neck surgery. (Although I was less tolerant to pain back then)
