Our computer kept freezing and we'd reboot. Guy came and gave us a new?
modem,because the phone was on and off too. Thought all was solved, but now I have a weird thing if I point the mouse it shows a little diamond shaped scope. When I type, i and moves all over the place and starts typing in the middle of the sentence! 4 times since I started this little paragraph? I changed the batteries in the mouse. Any ideas, were the settings changed or something?

Do you have a touchpad or something that you could be hitting?
Or you might have enabled one of the mouse-feature tools, as that's a caret, but I'm not sure what program causes that, since I've never enabled it, but you can do it accidentally with some key-strokes.
Check the taskbar.
