I need A from chemistry..So can someone please tell me and explain a little bit...How do acids and hydroxides react with each other you know in dependence to are they strong or weak acids and hydroxides..Some examples would help too..And how do acids react with salts and how do hydroxides react with salts...It would help a lot..I have a test tomorrow...

    Acid+Base----> Salt + H2O

    This type of a reaction in which an acid and base react to give a salt and water is called a neutralization reaction.

    Ex-

    HCl + NaOH ---> NaCl + H2O

    HCl + KOH ---> KCl + H2O

    The nature of salt which we get depends on the acid and base.

    If we take strong acid and weak base then the salt formed will we acidic in nature.

    and if we take a strong base and weak acid then the salt formed will be basic in nature.

    Acid + Salt ----> depends on the salt

    Ex-

    HCl + CaCO3 ---> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2

    Base + Salt ---->depends on the salt

    Acids + Base(hydroxide) = metal salt + H2O

    Eg: HCl + NaOH ------> NaCl + H2O

    Acid + Salt ------> ?

    Base + Salt ------->?

    I think there are no reactions(I mean there could be but not something u can predict)
