    Molarity = moles of solute / volume of solution in Liters. 5.00-kg of water has a volume of about 5.00-L so M = 31-g HCl / (36.5-g/mol x 5.00-L) = 0.170-mol/L

    The density of water is 1g/mL

    5.00kg = 5000g

    Therefore we have 5000mL

    5000mL = 5L

    Molecular mass of HCl = 36.45g/mol

    31.0g / 36.45g/mol = 0.85048moles of HCl

    Molarity = moles / Liters

    xM = 0.85048moles / 5L

    x = 0.17M
