    Molecular Mass of Mg(OH)2 = 58.3g/mol

    Molecular Mass of H20 = 18g/mol

    33.5g / 58.3g/mol = 0.5746moles of Mg(OH)2

From our balanced equation for every 1 mole of Mg(OH)2 there are 2 moles of H20. Therefore we have

    0.5746moles * 2 = 1.149moles of H20.

    1.149moles * 18g/mol = 20.69grams of H2O
