Indianapolis 500 Poll?

There is much debate over the finish. Some say that Dario made a dirty move by not giving Sato room and forcing him down to the apron. Others say that it was just race. Thoughts?

The Indy 500 is a fight to the finish. Takuma Sato even knew his move was risky, but when you're down to the last lap you'll do whatever you can to come out on top. It was a risk Sato took, and just so happen it didn't go well. You can't sit here and tell me that if the roles were reversed, and Dario was in Sato's position that he wouldn't have went for that move himself. He would've been doing the same thing most likely, because exactly like Sato he wanted to win. So no it wasn't a dirty move. It was a strategicic move on Dario's part. Yes, it would've been nice for Sato to win. Not only would it have been unexpected, but it also would've been an historic moment for him as well by being the first Japanese driver to ever win the Indy 500 if he would've won. I love Dario, and I'm happy that he won, but honestly I was hoping to see a fresh face win the race, and after seeing how good Sato moved up to the top I started rooting for him to win. The best man won the race, and that's all that is to it.

Dario could have given a bit more room to Sato, but I don't think he did anything wrong. Dario left just enough room and not much more. Sato could have just gone in there and bumped Dario out of the way. As it was he spun himself out trying to stay off of Dario. I file it under just racing. Sato could have been more aggressive, but wasn't. That earns some kudos from me.

Dario used his experience to his advantage. Sato made his move way to early and in a stupid location, everyone who went low on the white line in the corners crashed. Sato should have stayed with him and made the pass on the front stretch exiting turn four.

Sato made his move too early perhaps. I really wanted Sato to win. I don't Dario for some reason. But that crash is on Sato, me thinks.

Sato made his move alittle to soon, I was cheering for him and TK, not a Dario fan at all. Dario was just holding his line, its racing sometimes it gets alittle on the rough side you do what you have to do to win.

It wasn't a dirty move, he was holding his line, it was just racing & Sato made the move a little early.

It would have been awesome to see Takuma Sato win, but I am happy Dario Franchitti won for his buddy Dan Wheldon!

Well, Sato shouldn't have been so aggressive and wait to the last turn.

i think both had no choice. sato had the momentum and couldn´t back down (he would have never caught dario again).

dario couldn´t have run too wide with the chance he´d have gone off. and he had to defend his position, which is normal.

so: racing incident. no one to blame.
