Should I buy a Samsung Galaxy S3/htc one x or wait for the next nexus phone?
I'm an iPhone user, who's going to switch to android, but which one? I've been looking at reviews, compairisons and unboxings for the s3, one x and galaxy nexus and I'm kinda on the fence. I'm waiting till the s3 comes out to acquire more insight into the matter. My first question is if I should wait for the next nexus towards the end of 2012, or get one of the obove mentioned smartphones. And my second question is if I should buy a phone now, which one (of the obove mentioned smartphones). I like the stock android fact of the nexus, and the screen of the s3 and one x, I don't like sense, I don't like the lag on the one x... Any input, thoughtst, links to good reviews or compairisons would be helpful. Thanks
I just wanted to mention, I've seen some videos of the one x, and it lagged a LOT. When zooming in and out in the browser, it would lag for a second, and sometimes it would reposition itself after zooming, and when in settings, it would take a second every time I went into a specific area in settings. Does this happen to everyone, or just a minority? Thanks

I don't recommend the One X because it seems to have quite a lot of negative reviews lately. While it has a better design than the S3 and I think Sense is a great UI, the drawback for me is the battery life. For others, its the lack of external card and replaceable battery. I don't know about the lag but the battery seems to be a common complaint.
If you were to buy a phone now, I recommend the Samsung Galaxy S3. It is a beast of a phone, and reviews are actually good especially the battery life. The only usual negative complaints are the looks and the "cheap" back cover, but that is very much subjective. I have not held one yet but I doubt it will be a deal breaker. While some say it has a lot of gimmick features, you don't really have to use them. You can treat them as nice-to-haves. Reviews also says that it has a superior camera compared to the One X.
So for me, it's either buy the S3 or wait for the next high-end phones if the S3 does not satisfy you. There is a rumor that the Note 2 will come out by the end of the year. A new Nexus phone may also come out soon.

I believe the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the way to go, because it has better hardware. The HTC One X has a slightly better processor, clocked at 1.5GHz and the Samsung Galaxy S3 has 1.4GHz while the Nexus has a 1.2GHz. They all run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. If you use the cellphone cameras often the Samsung Galaxy has the best front and rear view camera. If you want no lag go for the HTC, but the S3 and HTC has Quad Core Processors while the Nexus has a Duel Core. So HTC for the 1,5GHz or the S3 for better hardware.

its a tough one.
on one hand, i have the Galaxy nexus and absolutely LOVE it. however the camera, while not bad by any means, is not up to par with the newer phones.
however, the skins on android really kill it. my previous phone was an HTC thunderbolt, it was pretty quick on sense, but when i switched to a stock android ROM, it absolutely FLEW.
stay away from the OneX if that little lag bothers you....it will only get worse with time.
also, touchwiz on the S3 is, IMO, super ugly and also slows down the phone.
if you are trying android for the first time, i would HIGHLY suggest sticking with stock android. while the newer phone have quad core, or have higher clocked dual core processors, the skins slow them down so they are actually SLOWER than the nexus.
as long as you dont get to wrapped up in benchmarks (i dont even pay attention to them any more) the nexus is the best phone out there right now.
as for the next nexus...you may have more than one to choose from come christmas time. google is probably going to have 5 nexus phones from different manufacturers and sell them directly from the play store. so no contract pricing for the next nexus phone....but you are probably going to be able to choose from samsung, HTC, moto, LG and one other. lots of choices but a higher initial cost.
also keep in mind the next nexus is probably going to be in the area of quad core processors, superamoled+ 720P/1080P screenin the 5" range with minimal bezels, 2 gb ram,and 8-12 mp cameras.

The next Nexus phone won't come out this year, they only release Nexus phones when something groundbreaking is released for the Android OS (and that already happened with ICS)
So I'd go with the Galaxy S3, it already had more than 9 million preorders.

Choose HTC One X, because it is best nowadays.

all of these are great phones but if you can wait a little, then wait for the galaxy s3 to come out then decide.
