I very much doubt it. Standards of education have gone rapidly down hill in both countries. There are far more behavioural problems in state schools, because they don't have the financial and other resources that private schools have, also political correctness has run rampant in our state education. This is not such a big problem in private schools. Private schools are very expensive, but there is also the option of what we call 'selective' high schools in NSW. I don't know if they have them in Victoria.
Having said this, there are some good schools in Melbourne. University High School springs to mind. It's very centrally located and they have some good programs there.

I go tI a private school in England. I wouldn't say that the Aussies are ahead of us, just check out the schools when you get there. Make sure you feel comfortable in the school you're going to go to. If you like it there and you work hard, you might achieve good grades :)
Generally, private schools are elitist and you might do well in a private school of your parents want to pay and you're willing to work hard.
Uk and Australia work at the same levels.
Just make sure you look at the schools you're considering applying/going for.
Good luck in your move!

you may get high quality educations in any respect 3. it relies upon on what faculties you flow to in those international places. i could say the U. S. and uk have better faculties regularly than Australia. look into the hyperlink.

School in the United Kingdom is a lot stricter than in Australia.
Going off what I've heard. I've only been an Australian school.
