Why are Republicans villified as being racists...?

...when history proves that democrats are the architects of modern racism?

-thewhitehousemuseum.org:The first film to be shown inside the White House was The Birth of a Nation, a racist epic that celebrates the Ku Klux Klan as America's saviors. Woodrow Wilson [democrat] screened it in 1915 (probably in the second floor Central Hall), in part to repay a political debt to southern supporters, and such choices have tainted his place in American history ever since.

-Public Broadcasting System (www.pbs.org/wnet/jimcrow/stories_org_kkk.html): “The Klan quickly became a terrorist organization in service of the Democratic Party and white supremacy. Between 1869 and 1871 its goal was to destroy Congressional Reconstruction by murdering blacks -- and some whites -- who were either active in Republican politics or educating black children.”

-Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, champion of democrats:

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the ***** is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the ***** population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." (As described in Linda Gordon's Woman's Body, Woman's Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America . New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976).

-In 1926, Sanger gave a lecture on birth control to the women's auxiliary of the Ku Klux Klan in Silver Lake, NJ. wikipedia.

-In 1944, Senator Byrd, the democrat all liberals love, wrote to segregationist Mississippi Senator Theodore Bilbo: "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a ***** by my side... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

-During the 60’s all of the racist Southern State leaders were democrat: Bull Conner, Oriville Faubus, Fulbright. “During this period, they [KKK] often forged alliances with Southern police departments, as in Birmingham, Alabama; or with governor's offices, as with George Wallace of Alabama who, on his inauguration as governor of Alabama on January 14, 1963, proclaimed "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” wikipedia

-Which party in the Senate supported the 1964 Civil Rights Act? Democrats 63%, Republicans 80%. In the House? Democrats 61%, Republicans 80%.

-Which party opposed the 1965 Civil Rights Act in the Senate? Democrats 27%; Republicans 6%. In the House? Democrats 22%; Republicans 18%.

Funny "Delt No.2", my boss is a democrat and he's the only other person I have ever heard say Spanish is the language of the ghetto.

Democrats like welfare programs because it keeps the poor, poor. The poor feel grateful for the welfare and see no reason to work. They get out of the habit of working, they find it hard to get back into the grind. They see they can live for free so long as the Democrats are in control and continue to provide for free. Republicans want to see people earn for themselves. Rather than hand everything out for free, teach others how to work. Teach others how to find traits within themselves that make them a great ________ (teacher, gardner, scientist, whatever).

So because Republicans want to see all hands on deck and all citizens contributing to society, they want to see the endless entitlements end. Or at least be minimized to its original intention - to help those that need it, but not to live off of and to enable the lazy leeches that refuse to work. Because Republicans feel this way they are called racist, they are accused of being "for the rich" and of hating the poor. What's funny though, those lies began with the Democrat elite.

No I are not able to and won't try and proof whatever that is false. Republicans are not racist, some are, some don't seem to be similar to Democrats, there is no connection and insisting there's is likely one of the crucial weaknesses of yank liberalism carefully tied in with their obsession and embody of identification politics. Now not all black people voted for Obama situated on his dermis colour, individually quite a bit did because they subsequently would. Does anyone need reminding a hundred percent of white humans voted for white candidates in earlier Presidential elections. Some chauvinism on the part of Black the usa is understandable, i would not name it racism nevertheless misguided I do believe these sentiments are. American liberalism and the Democratic occasion are centered on an evasion of the major classification disorders that dominate American society. Rather, they focus obsessively on secondary issues of race, gender, age, etc., and thereby exacerbate such differences and impart to them a malignant personality. Due to the fact the social gathering will not be established on any coherent application, its candidates have got to make their appeal with the aid of adopting personas designed to win help from exceptional constituent factors of the celebration amalgam. The truth is that the “1/3 rail” of american capitalist politics is just not race, however classification. What unites blacks and lessen-sales whites and immigrants just isn't that they're discriminated in opposition to or disrespected or victimized in some nebulous means. What unites them is that they're all part of the equal type, the working type, whose labor produces all of the wealth of society, which is expropriated from them by one more category, the house owners of capital. This basic Marxist proposition is the establishing point of a scientific figuring out, not most effective of the 2008 elections, however of the arena political challenge. While i would on no account deny racism nonetheless exists and wishes to be eradicated I do consider in American mainstream politics what passes as the left uses more racial politics than their proper wing counter elements. Even Bush but relatively another mainstream Republican would under no circumstances disqualify anyone founded on skin colour at the same time you might be entirely correct numerous liberals and even sections of the democratic celebration suffer from what you so accurattely describe as racistaphobia. It indicates in the way in which those Democrats who in their heart don't agree with Obama's insurance policies tiptoe round Obama alternatively of blasting him like they might if he was once no longer a minority.

Anyone who doesn't have their head in the sand acknowledges two basic historical truths:

1.) The racist wing of the Democratic party, the Dixiecrats, broke from the party after the civil rights act of 1964 (which is why your historical narrative suspiciously drops off around that time).

2.) Most Dixiecrats gravitated to (and were courted by) the GOP (which is why the Dixiecrat stronghold of the Southern US is now firmly in the hands of the GOP).

Just google "southern strategy" or simply look to your party's leadership if you want more evidence. Say what you want, but modern Democrats wouldn't be caught dead calling Spanish the "language of the ghetto".

Republicans are vilified as racists because today's Republican Party is racist.

Republicans can't rest on their history because they have left that far behind.

I don't know who you are trying to sway with this historical recounting because everyone knows that there are few if any liberal Republicans left in the party and now they're trying to even kick out the moderates.

You'll have to try harder in order to overcome things like the Republican Southern Strategy, Reagan's Philadelphia Mississippi speech, the remarks by current Republican candidates, the racist remarks by Republicans in general, the racist remarks by Republicans here on Yahoo Answers, etc.

Edit: Apparently you recount ancient history because you know that you have absolutely nothing good to relate about Republicans and race relations for the past few decades.
