Is it okay to take the battery out of a switched ON phone?
My original question is here, Id appreciate it you read that first: http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ak...
Because of the problem, i cant switch the phone off. I was thinking I could try taking the battery out and back in? But the phone would be on. Is that okay to do or could it be damaging to the phone?
Edit: Yes, but I am prompted to confirm by tapping the screen when I hit the power button. I obviously cant confirm it because the screen is black. So it cant be switched off from the button.

Well, you used a button to turn the phone on, right?
Just keep that button pressed, and it should turn off.
If it doesn't, sure you can pull the battery out.

yes, with androids it is usually safe to do a battery pull. I do it occasionally with mine. Just pull the battery out wait 5 secs and put it back in and turn it on, if it still doesn't respond you may have a more serious problem
