Ramadan: I need advice from my brothers and sisters in Islam?

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuuh,

I need some very serious advice from my brothers and sisters in Islam.

I am a recent convert (going on about 3 months now) and I am facing some challenges in my life.

1. I am only 18 and my parents have supported me for most of my life. That has now changed. They want me out of the house, they refuse to give me even money for food, and they will no longer pay for any of life's necessities.

2. At this point in time, I have a high-school diploma, 40 college credit hours (4.0 GPA), and about 5,000 USD in savings from working odd jobs and whatnot for years. Not much, but hopefully it can sustain me.

This is what I am wondering: Is there a way that I can join some type of Islamic organization where they could help me out of this situation? I certainly don't mind working for my keep but at this point I have absolutely no guidance and I am running out of time (I have two days to leave or they will have the police make me leave). At this point in time, I wouldn't mind traveling to another country to become an Imam (Sunni) or work for some sort of English program.

Please give me guidance,

You brother in Islam, Abdullah.

    Wa alaikum assalam wr wb

Firstly, that the driving factor and underlying truth regarding wanting to embrace the religion must be to gain the pleasure and acceptance of your Lord--Allaah, the Most Glorified and All-High, who does not accept any religion other than Islam, as He has said in his Glorious Book (the Qur'aan), [interpretation of the meaning]: "And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam--it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers." (The Family of Imran, verse 3:85) It has been narrated by Abu Hurairah, may Allaah be please with him, that Allaah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "By Him in whose hand Muhammad's soul is (i.e., God, Allaah), there is none from amongst the Jews and the Christians (of these present nations to whom I have been sent) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islamic monotheism), but he will be among the dwellers of the Hellfire." (Sahih Muslim, Book of Faith, #240).

Thus, your objectives in entering Islam are to save yourself from being among the permanent dwellers of Hell in the Hereafter, and to achieve the fantastic reward of the bliss of Heaven, the vastness of which is greater than that of the earth and the skies. Your overriding motive for accepting Islam should not be emotions stemming from your relationship with the Muslim man with whom you are in love. Your embracing Islam is something necessary for yourself whether you marry this man or not.

Secondly, obeying God (Allaah) and His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has a higher priority than your closest relative and most beloved dear one even if it is your mother or your spouse or anyone else. The Prophet of guidance has said : "There are three qualities, for which whoever is characterized by them will relish the sweetness of faith: one to whom Allaah and His Messenger are dearer than all else; one who loves a man only for Allaah's sake; and one who abhors returning to apostasy after Allaah has rescued him from it as he abhors being cast into Hell." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Faith, #15).

He also said: "No worshipper (and in the hadeeth narrated by 'Abdul-Warith, no person) is a truthful believer, until I am dearer to him than the members of his household, his wealth and the whole of mankind." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Faith #14)

  • Wa-Alaykum Salam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuuh,

Firstly Alhamdulilah you've accepted Islam and may Allah SWT guide you.

I'm also sorry to hear of your situation, how unfortunate for your parents to teach you this way.

Have you considered visiting your local mosque see perhaps they can help you?

There are also Islamic organization you can contact online for help and support.

Also how about looking for a job as of now and use your savings to rent a flat and in the mean time work also?

I honestly don't know what else to suggest, sorry.

But Inshallah you will get the right guidance and support. =)

    Have a nice day.

You need to go talk to the financial aid office at whatever college you are enrolling and apply for a waiver on your federal financial aid application, explaining a rift has occurred in your family and you are not receiving any economic support from your parents.

Let me tell you something brother, if none of the suggestions work and you find yourself homeless on the streets, it is because Allah wants you to learn some things and also because he wants you to teach truth about Islam among the homeless. Though you may face hard times, difficult, full of stress and worry and peril, be a true follower and Allah will provide you with everything you truly need. Salams.

    Wa alaikum Assalam

Glad to hear you've joined our family :) The best advice I can give you is to visit a local mosque and ask them for help and hopefully the Imam will be able to give you a hand InshaAllah.

First, I'd like to advise you to be patient and seek Allah's assistance to make out of every difficulty ease and to grant you patience.

Second, know that trials befall the believer according to their faith. The stronger one's faith, the greater the trials. The weaker one's faith, the weaker the trials.

    Allah says:

Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allâh will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test). [Qur'an 69: 2-3]

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “A Muslim, male or female, continues to remain under trial in respect of his life, property, and offspring until he faces Allah, the Exalted, with no sin record”

Thirdly, ask the local mosque if they have a brother willing to give you a room in their house for rent?

Wa alaikumussalam O, Dear Brother! :)

it is so sad to know you situation.

but KEEP that NO MATTER how your parents threat you, u HAVE TO BE GOOD for them

later you said you wouldn't mind being an imam right?

then you should try to apply a scholarship on Islamic University of Medina (al-Jami’ah al-Islamiyyah bil Madinah al-Munawwarah)

considering that you came from USA that is your GOLDEN TICKET. :)

try to contact your local imam about this university.

I will pray for u my brother! ALLAHU ma'akum (ALLAH be with you!) always.. :)

    Wa alaykum assalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

    Quran 2:214 translation

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said,"When is the help of God?" Unquestionably, the help of God is near.

Let's see... where could you move... hmmmm...

    http://www.medinahproject.com/muslim-village.html - malaysia sound nice?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/mid... - how about learning some arabic in Tunisia?

http://bayyinah.com/dream/ <-- how about haggling these people?

    Here's a simple one: http://www.off-grid.net/

http://www.holyislamvillesc.org/ - Why not these muslims in South Carolina?

Phone all the mosques in your region and ask what they could do for someone in your position.

    Quran 20:114 translation

So high [above all] is God, the Sovereign, the Truth. And do not hasten with the recitation before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

    We alekumuselam,

    Welcome,

All way remember, when Allah swa created us he bestow the sustenance on us for us, where ever we might be: Muslim and non Muslim. How ever, Muslims will use this sustenance to reach to Jennah , insheallah.

As for you You have very good opportunity because you are male, you can travel land of Allah. You can teach English language to some Muslim countries, like Egypt , for en example. You can get in contact with your local Mosque and talk to some one there to connect you further.

"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam--it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers." (The Family of Imran, verse 3:85) It has been narrated by Abu Hurairah, may Allaah be please with him, that Allaah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "By Him in whose hand Muhammad's soul is (i.e., God, Allaah), there is none from amongst the Jews and the Christians (of these present nations to whom I have been sent) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islamic monotheism), but he will be among the dwellers of the Hellfire." (Sahih Muslim, Book of Faith, #240).

    DU"A AND SABR

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah(may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “(The du’aa’) of any one of you will be answered so long as he is not hasty in seeking a response and does not say, ‘I prayed but I have not had a response.’”

    Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5981; Muslim, 2735

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who calls upon Allaah with words in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allaah will give him one of three things: either He will answer his prayer soon, or He will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will remove something bad from him that is equivalent to what he is asking for.” They said, “Then we should make a great amount of du’aa’.” He said, “Allaah is greater.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3573; classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi and others.

    Also:

The calamities that befall a person and affect him or his wealth or his family are not completely bad, rather they may result in a lot of good for a person.

Allaah has told us in His Book of that which may reduce the impact of the calamity on a person and encourage him to seek reward, namely patience and saying Inna Lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon (Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return). This is a promise from Allaah that He will fulfil. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“but give glad tidings to As- Saabiroon (the patient).

    156. Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: ‘Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.’

    157. They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones”

    [al-Baqarah 2:155-157]

    Ibn al-Qayyim said:

This phrase is one of the greatest means of dealing with calamity and is one of the most beneficial in this world and in the Hereafter. It comprises two great principles which, if a person understands them properly, will bring him consolation for the calamity that has befallen him:

1 – That the person, his family and his wealth all belong to Allaah in a real sense; they have been given to him as a loan, and if they are taken from him, that is like the lender taking back his property from the borrower.

2 – The person will ultimately return to Allaah his Lord. He will inevitably leave this world behind and come before his Lord on his own as He created him the first time, with no family, no wealth, no tribe, rather with good deeds and bad deeds. If this is how he started and is how he is going to end, then how can he rejoice over what he has or grieve over what he does not have? Thinking about how he began and how he will end is the best remedy for this problem.

    Zaad al-Ma’aad, 4/189.

So you see Allah 'azawajal is the best in justice and He is the most Wise and Great. If we bear our hardships and calamities with patience, then InshaAllah the rewards will be huge!

InshaAllah u feel at ease and InshaAllah ur hardships and distress go and InshaAllah u have sabr!

    only take care of wahhabism

there is no animosity between the Sunni and the Shi'ites. they are united and talking peacefully to solve disagreements.

problem is wahhabism that promotes terrorism.

wahhabism is made by British to make animosity between the Sunni and the Shi'ites to 'devide and rule':

    http://www.terrorism-illuminati.com/wahhabis

Wahabis/Salafists are the ones who comprise Taliban, Al-Qaeda members, found mostly around Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere. they are pretty much, the Muslim version of the Evangelical church; only, if they're not kept under control, they can get dangerous. Salafists are the ones who are sniper-shooting Syrians and doing suicide-bombings around Syria and Iraq.

please look at this short beautiful story of:

Ibn Saud, Wahhabis, and Oil, to 1945

Wahhabism and the Saud Family; oil and geologists from the United States

    http://www.fsmitha.com/h2/ch17arab.html

please distinguish between sunni Muslims and extremist Wahhabi (Salafi).

Salaf literally means "past people"[=Sahaba] and Salafi means who follows Sahaba of prophet. but today Salafi is same as Wahhabi. but they do not like to be called Wahhabi. they prefer to be called Salafi. Wahhabism is founded by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab based on beliefs of Ibn Taymiyyah in Saudi Arabia. today Wahhabism is based in Saudi Arabia and is propagating beliefs of Wahhabism in world very powerful and with high financial support by petrodollars from Saudi Royal family.

Wahhabi is in fact supported by US, Israel and England to make conflict inside Muslims and finally to destroy Islam.

Ashura day keep the message of Imam Hussein (sa) alive to reach all humans.

Husain (sa) wanted to send his message with his blood to all the world and to all the humans.

    the message of Hussain is:

there is two different Kind of Islam.

the pure Islam of prophet and Islam of Yazid (Ummayids) who celebrated killing of Husain (sa) the Imam and real Caliph of their time.

    Husain (sa) said:

with Yazid, Salam [bye] to Islam.

    please read:

    http://pastebin.com/4eGMQmWV

    Quran says:

"[en.sahih] Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the maintenance of al-Masjid al-Haram equal to [the deeds of] one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. [9:19]"
