Parents, What do you think of banning child predators from Social Networks?

Whether you like it, it is impossible to impalement unless you want a National Internet ID that would monitor your Internet activity and basically censor in real time the sites you visit, emails, and IM's, because that's the only possible way to do it(that and kill the Internet but who in their right mind would do that?) also, none of us may like it but the fact is children are having sex at about the age of 12 now on average, which is below the minimum age you must be in order to accept the terms(a legal document) to join Facebook. The kids out there having sex, a growing number of them actually seek out adults (disturbing, I know.) which defeats the purpose of actually banning them to begin with. What this means is, if you really want to stop the predators, you, as a parent, need to talk to your child about it. The government can't do it for you. And if for some crazy reason you're all up for a National Internet ID, I value my rights more than your mentally challenged methods of protection.

Actually, Facebook is trying to do that. Well, not ban child predators from social networks but make the government monitor everyy U.S. citizens online activities. Facebook supports the Cyber Intelligence Sharing Act. Under the law, all online companies will be required to hand over all information that they have on a U.S. citizen. Under that law, the US can also read and view all your messages and pictures set on private. They can even read your emails. The law was approved by congress about 2 months ago.

I say monitor the kids, not the child predators (at least to the extent of a National Internet ID).

Giving the government the privilege to censor what you do on the internet sounds like a terrible idea.

Execute ANYONE who rapes a child, that will solve any need for banning or not banning child predators from Social Networks. Educate your children on the positives & negatives of sex, encourage them not to rush into such things. As a parent, that is MY responsibility not the government. We al know how efficient the government does anything, they can't prevent predators from their activities but they certainly show the world that we will not accept such behavior. The old saying is " If you can't do the time, don't do the crime". Stop with this weak policy of slapping rapist on the wrist, then setting them free.

A national internet ID works as well as national passport programs or national (state) drivers license programs. There are still illegal immigrants and those driving without licenses. You'll have the same thing in this case.

I just want to know how they would know for a fact that that person is a sex offender or not. Also young kids need their own time on these sites monitored.
