MC Charging Voltage Question?

My 2yr old Battery in my 90 1100 Katana isn't holding a charge

On checking the charging circuit I'm seeing 15.5v @ 5000rpm

I've heard different opinions on whether this is too high

I'm not smelling an acid smell

any opinions?

That's not an opinion. It's a plain fact that any lead acid battery is going to have a very short life at that voltage. Even the normal 14 volts is higher than optimum.

What the other guy said is nonsense. A dead battery will have a lower charging voltage until it's partly charged.

Its just a tad high but not to bad. Its probably just trying to charge your dead/bad battery. Replace the battery, fully charge it, then test voltage again.
