If a kayak has a hole in it, won't you be able to tell when your on the water? Quickily?

I'm talking about a small hole not a big one. Add as many details as possible. I was fishing in my new caper angler by ocean kayak and I noticed there was a moist hull by the end of the day. Not drippy but moist. I remember there being a wet t-shirt in there that may have been the problem, but otherwise I'm shot in the dark on this one. There where a few droplets of water but not much.

The inside of a kayak ALWAYS gets wet when you paddle unless you are wearing a sprayskirt on a sit in kayak. Since yours is a sit on top it will always be wet -- there is drip from the paddle that will get in the hull every time. A lot of people carry a bilge sponge to soak it up, but especially with a sit on top, you have to expect a wet ride. Since an SOT is double hulled, a hole is unlikely, unless it has scupper plugs for water drainage and you left them out.

If you read the reviews, most users report that the boat is a "wet ride".

Kayaking is a wet sport -- dress for it and get used to it.

Caution...Assess the ratings of the river stretches you intend to run. If they're greater than Grade II, you might have troubles. If they are Grade III, assume it! Open whitewater canoeing requires extra skill than equivalent kayaking. I'd recommend that you simply attend a kayak/college rather of trying to run both of these rivers. Search, 'Nantahala outside core.'. Plan an Anniversary dinner there!

I think you are fine. Everytime you go kayaking you are bound to get a little water in the boat when you get in or from the paddle or whatever. As long as it is less then you can splash around in you should be fine.
