Do teachers check their work emails over summer/weekends?
Sooo I sent one of my teachers (school ended last week, so technically from last year) an email basically thanking him for being such an amazing teacher. He is my favorite teacher and he meant a lot to me this past year. I guess you could say he was my father figure for a good part of the year.
Anyways, I emailed him after school on the last day of school. At the end of the day, before I left school, I told him I would miss him and he said he would miss me too. We hugged and I started crying as I was walking home, so I wanted to email him just to thank him again.
I sent it on Thursday and he hasn't replied yet...so I was thinking he would do it this week. Just wanted to know what some of you thought...do teachers even use their work email anymore once school ends? For some reason I always thought that teachers still go to school for like a week after school ended....but I don't know. Any teachers out there? What do you do?

We do go to school after the students leave. I try and not check my email at work for a while. None of this matters.
We teachers see students leave every year - it is part of what we do. I often get end of the year notes - and I do not reply to them. The thought is nice, but it is my job to make sure they move on.
Dont expect a reply.

We only have 1 teacher workday after the kids leave and that is us checking our various materials in and doing paperwork. (I got out at 10:30 that next day! Woot!) I do check e-mail, but usually only to make sure none of my summer trainings are cancelled or to check times for trainings so maybe once every couple weeks. My hubby hasn't checked his at all yet. I've only checked mine because I have training this week.
There is a very good chance your teacher is on vacation. Like real vacation like a road trip.

Most of them do. Unless their busy and don't have time to reply. But your teacher will reply to your email. You'll see :D

Most do. He's probably giving you a chance to move on so you don't get stuck on him.
